Cru Staff: Embracing Our Mission in a Changing World

For decades, we've always taken bold steps of faith to share Christ with everyone. Going wherever people are, journeying together, making disciples, and helping to fulfill our Lord's Great Commission. This is our heart's desire. Give every person – no matter who they are, where they've been, or what they've done, the opportunity to know, to experience, and to follow Jesus.

Helping each person take one step forward. Today, tomorrow, and forevermore. And as the challenges have continually changed, we've adapted and grown, striving to make the most of what we've been given. Trust in the Spirit and following Him into the unknown.

Over the ages, the Lord has worked through every meeting. The message carried by many heralds. The truth written and shared from the ancient tablets of stone to the modern tablets of today. Never before has there been a time like now where the impossible has now become possible. Finally, nearly anyone, anywhere, and at any time can be reached with the message of Christ.

From the young to the old, from the rich to the poor, in every tribe and of every nation, many hold the gateways to the gospel in the palms of their hands. Gateways through which the glory of Christ can be seen and heard. Millions upon millions seeking to know the truth. Millions knowing and being known by Him. Through the power of the Spirit, everyone is within reach.

But the light is not all that spreads. And we are not alone in striving to reach the world. We face both great opportunity and great opposition. The darkness filling every void of the light. Seeking to destroy all that is good.

Every lie starts the same with the promise of life, but always falls short and cannot deliver. Countless resources invested to bombard us with wave after wave. False promises of purpose, happiness, and peace. The constant curse of this world carries many away. Endless alters to offer our devotion on demand day or night – a never ending supply for the half filled.

Consumers eventually consumed, distracted and conformed by the never ending noise. Trapped in an infinite loop. Work. Buy. Consume. Compare. Repeat. Slowly and silently enslaving. Numbness sets in. Detachment begins. No longer able to see or hear. Detached from ourselves from each other and our Creator. Connected yet isolated and alone.

Almost everything available in secret, nearly anything permissible, instantly gratified, but left empty and rarely satisfied. Darkness and lies take root blooming in the soil of the soul, forgetting who we are, what is true and exchanging the truth for a lie. All of us are vulnerable. Each one of us.

Evil is never idle. The enemy is always active, always on the move. Leveraging every tool, old or new, to destroy hope and whatever is good. Prowling, deceiving, and devouring whomever he may consume in his grip until the day he's finally broken and bound by Christ, our King. It is finished once and for all, but it is far from over.

We must press in. We must continue to go. In the power of Christ. We must be vigilant until our King returns for the good of others and for the glory of God. As before, we must continue taking both steps of faith for the opportunities and against the opposition. Let's journey together and be keen, creative, and determined.

Always adapting and always growing. Pushing past our comfort and control. Responding to people's needs. In continual prayer, through our gifts and resources. Learning new skills and mastering the old and new. We must accept and embrace all the grace God has given us. No matter where we start from today, each one of us must take the next step to become stronger.

Collaborating and laboring with the body of Christ to help fulfill the Great Commission. Whether you are an evangelist, a strategist, a coder, a writer, a designer, a filmmaker, a photographer, or a marketer, we are all on mission. Whether in person, on the ground, or online, from the east and to the west, from the north and to the south, and to every corner of the earth, both you and I, we are all commissioned and empowered by the almighty Jesus Christ.

We will be relentless in leveraging each tool, creating and discovering more relevant and effective ways for people to be known and moving with God, taking their next step of faith. Helping all, whether unaware and never heard, curious and seeking the truth, believers following and walking within, or even guides helping others and making disciples.

We are committed to journey with others in the moments that matter. At every opportunity, and no matter the circumstance, we will be by their side, journeying together. Sharing the right content, through the right channel, with the right person, at the right time. Sharing trust, sharing compassion and love, across any distance.

And growing together. Nothing will stop the spirit from scaling beyond any barrier and through any obstacle. From moving, growing, and permeating every place on our planet. May we embrace God's will as he reaches millions more. More than ever seen before. In every nation, in every tribe, in every tongue, in every one.

We pray boldly with you and we pray for you for the Lord's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. And may we continue seeing His vision come true. The knowledge of the glory of the Lord filling all of the earth as the waters cover the sea.
