Ignite 10th Anniversary

The celebration of IGNITE’s 10th anniversary reminded them of what God has done in their movement. Sam Liuson, the head of the IGNITE ministry, shared and looked back on how he started. When leaders encouraged him to lead the IGNITE event in the Philippines, he wholeheartedly said yes, even though he had no proposal, no budget, and no speakers. Despite this, he faithfully trusted the Lord, and it led him to several Christian business leaders who became the primary speakers for those in the business field. However, Sam knew that God was not done with them yet. They cast the vision to the people and challenged them to give their LIFE (Leadership, Influence, Finances & Expertise) to the Lord.

The first IGNITE conference happened in Cebu, where over 170 businessmen and businesswomen joined the event. Sam was reminded that God often begins with ordinary people who said yes to Him. The event was successful, and the yearly conference continued. Then, the pandemic came, yet the mission did not stay quarantined. They kept on meeting each other, growing more in the Lord. Despite all of their physical operations coming to a halt, God continued to sustain them and show His control over their circumstances. Truly, God never abandons what He has started and will make sure that His ministry flourishes.

All of this started with a yes. Although Sam did not have all the answers and a detailed plan, he simply wanted to be FAT: Faithful, Available, Teachable. He also encouraged his team to be the same and stay aligned to the purpose that God has given to them.

He hopes that IGNITE Conference will not just be a one-time event, but will become an avenue where business people will encounter Jesus. That IGNITE will be a year-round movement of Christian leaders who say yes to the Great Commission. The conference can inspire people, but the real measure is what happens afterwards. The gospel should be open to those who need Jesus, and everyone needs salvation. This is why IGNITE was created to penetrate corporations and businesses, because more than all the temporal things and wealth anyone can have, only God can satisfy people.
